Garrett and Kyla approached me about documenting their wedding when they returned home from a long stint in South Korea teaching English. Garrett and I worked together a lifetime ago at the Apple Store in Buffalo and kept in touch periodically whilst he was teaching english in South Korea. Kyla and Garrett were a hoot [...]

I’ve known Mr. Reeves since I was born. My parents moved into our house on Franklin street the week after I was born in June, 1985. Mr. Reeves and his wife of sixty seven years, Mrs. June Reeves were/are like a second set of grandparents too me. I have fond vivid memories of helping the [...]

I’m falling increasingly in love with portrait sessions. A lot can be said about a great portrait session. If the photographer and the subject are on the same page the chances are the portrait session will end with some really great results. I recently had an experience like that with local comedian Anthony Rizzo.

In December I sent out a tweet asking if anyone wanted to do a portrait session together as a way for someone to get a new portrait, for me to test some new equipment, and get to know one of my followers. A couple days went by without a response so I figured I would [...]

We continue to explore the very loving relationship between FC Buffalo and the Erie Admirals from the 2011 NPSL season. If you’ve been following the posts for the last couple day’s you’ll know the reoccuring theme that these two teams and fans generally don’t like each other. If you’re just reading about this rivalry you [...]

Yes there’s nothing like a knee [...]

I think all fans in The Situation Room will regard the Erie Admirals as FC Buffalo’s biggest rival in the NPSL Matches between FC Buffalo and Erie are always physical, competitive and entertaining and usually tainted with poor officiating. As I mentioned in a couple of my Lord Bedlington Cup posts, being on the sideline during FC [...]

As I wrap up this series of FC Buffalo vs. Bedlington Terriers FC images (for now) I have to leave you with this image. One of the things I quickly realized whilst shooting for FC Buffalo is how fast the action is, and how ridiculous some of the moments you capture are.

In December I was asked by a client to spend some time at WNYBAC, the Western New York Book Arts Center. As someone who enjoys the craft of typography and graphic print design I embarrassingly have to admit that I hadn’t been to WNYBAC before, which is why I jumped at the chance to shoot the assignment.

With Kodak declaring Chapter 11 today I, like a lot of photographers probably, will be looking into the tubes of the internet for Kodak related content to share. I came across this video from the George Eastman House Archive of early Kodachrome Film Tests from the 1920′s. Being from the Rochester/Syracuse NY area, it was [...]

I took this on my way back from Zoar Valley near Evangola in the late Spring 2009. I was pretty frustrated that day because nature in general was still budding at this point and not in full bloom. Thus, my hour long drive on the seaway trail specifically for a hike in Zoar Valley was [...]
